Its been about a week since my last blog. And with Chequamagon next weekend, I should say something.
First of all, I reconnected with an old friend which made my month. It was good to see her!
I did hit my last WISPORT race of the year today. It was the Cleghorn race in Wi. Near Eau Claire. A two lapper at 43 miles. Never raced it before. Jim Cullen was there as well as a bunch of Spring Street and Brones guys. A decent field.
With all kinds of attacks throughout the day from Spring Street, we finally had a group of about 10 that lasted the rest of the way. I was feeling pretty good taking some turns at the front. Coming to the last few miles the field was about 7 and I was keeping an eye on Mike Johnson. Anyhow, Cullen made a move on a mild hill and held us off. I went hard and got Third. Mike second. A great race! RESULTS
I made a pitstop at the local Cleghorn fest nearby and bought some honey from a local farmer. Heres my political rant: buy local!! Supporting this old man and his grandson made the whole purchase so much more worth it.
Anything to avoid having a massive vessel that gets .003 miles to the gallon, spewing all kinds of crap into the ocean, just so that little Jenni can get her overpriced cotton Hilfigger tshirt. Globalization?
Homemade honey...!
OK> Cheq next week! My biggest race of the year..more during the week!
Thanks Dave! Too bad we wont see you up there racing....what about cheering at double OO??
